About

I grew up in Long Island, NY and completed my undergraduate education at Union College in Schenectady, NY. I spent the next nine years living in Washington, DC where I completed medical school and internal medicine residency at the George Washington University School of Medicine. I moved to Milwaukee, WI to complete fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW). I remained at MCW as an Assistant Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine and Radiology and have spent the past eight years practicing cardiovascular medicine as an academic physician both at the main academic campus in Milwaukee and the nearby local community of West Bend, WI where I served as the director of Cardiovascular services at local health center and community hospital. I left MCW in 2020 when my family moved to Portland, Maine. I joined the Maine Health cardiology group and practiced as a non-invasive cardiologist at Maine Medical Center. I received a faculty appointment as an Assistant Professor of Medicine from Tufts University during my time at Maine Health as the two institutions have an affiliation. In addition to my clinical duties, I served as advisor to the Tufts University Resident Lifestyle Medicine group during my two years in Maine.

I am excited to re-join the faculty at Medical College of Wisconsin once again working in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine. I am also excited to be joining the Center for Disease Prevention and Research (CDPR) at MCW to help launch the newly designated Lifestyle Medicine Program working as the lead of the Community Outreach working group. I specialize in cardiac imaging including echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, and advanced cardiac MRI. I am certified in plant-based nutrition and am a diplomat of the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine. My clinical practice is focused on preventive cardiovascular medicine where I take a holistic approach to patient care integrating traditional medical management of cardiovascular disease and risk factors with healthy lifestyle medicine interventions, including plant-based nutrition.

Very impressed with the knowledge and studies supporting our discussions during my visit.
Very happy about service and treatment.
Dr. Welsh is wonderful.
Aimee Welsh did an excellent job of addressing every question and concern that I had regarding my medical condition, prognosis and future treatment. I was particularly impressed by her clarity and thoroughness in responding to every question.
Excellent experience overall
Appreciate Dr Welch's knowledge of the benefits of a plant based whole food diet.
Dr. Welsh, was very informative, professional and made me feel comfortable.
Pleasantly surprised at how long Dr Welsh spent with me and how well she listened to my concerns. I felt my former cardiologist always had one hand on the doorknob.
Aimee Welsh is a remarkable cardiologist with care that went beyond the main heart issues to suggest whole body care changes in my life. I have already recommended her to others.
Dr. Welsh is a great doctor based upon my limited experience with seeing her and I am glad our paths crossed. She is well versed and most importantly has given my concerns over treatment plans valid consideration and does not make me feel at all as if she is strongly compelling me to do something when it is not absolutely imperative that I do so at the moment.
Dr. Welsh is a "rock star!" She is extremely knowledgeable in her field and has a magnificent "bedside manner."
Dr Aimee Welsh was very thoughtful and spent time with me during a challenging diagnosis. She was very thoughtful, professional and patient with my questions. I am very thankful for her expertise and approach.
I appreciated the time and patience Dr Walsh had with my questions. Too many doctors seem to leave you with the feeling you are interfering with their day.
Filling out the 4 page questionnaire was puzzling since it could have been part of the on line check in process and many of the questions were repetitive
Dr. Walsh is excellent! I am so glad I was able to see her. She is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a preventative heart consultation.
I was late by about ten minutes due to travel time. Firstly it seemed that I wouldn't be seen, then the nurse mixed me up with someone else. Then I was advised I would be seen but only on a short 15 minute appointment so I'm not sure what I would need a long appointment as I had to go to Mequon because I had to change doctors. After this the nurse was great, cheerful and very talkative would make a nervous person at ease. The doctor was very friendly and aware of my history, and great. Trouble is the doctor is a Liverpool fan.
