Laura Jacques, MD

Assistant Professor

"I am committed to caring for people. I try to be open-minded and understanding of individual wishes and ideas about their health and incorporate this into their plan of care. In my view, people need individualized care based on their specific situation; a single mold does not fit every patient. I work as a team with my patients to figure out a way to give them the best possible care in a manner that fits their lifestyle and that they are comfortable with."

Biography

Dr. Laura Jacques joined the department as an assistant professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in October, 2013.

Dr. Jacques completed her undergraduate education at Arizona State University where she graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. in Biology and Society, a major that emphasized basic science, the humanities and the effect of one on the other through time. She then went to medical school at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Washington, Seattle.

Dr. Jacques’ areas of interest and expertise in gynecology are medical and conservative management of uterine bleeding, minimally invasive surgery including robotic surgery, vulvar and vaginal infections and pain syndromes and cervical dysplasia.

Dr. Jacques also manages both complicated and uncomplicated pregnancies. She enjoys working with her patients and their support person(s) to achieve the pregnancy and birth experience they are hoping for.

“My practice goals are two-fold, first to provide excellent, evidence based care and second to ensure that their care is tailored to what is possible and preferable for the individual woman”.

Personally, she is a mother to three very active boys. She spends her free time playing with her children, running, doing yoga and meditation, and traveling. She lives in a bilingual household and is proficient in Spanish
