Today, Press Ganey works with more than 26,000 health care facilities, including over 60 percent of all U.S. hospitals, to help reduce patient suffering and improve the quality, safety and experience of care.

Who receives the survey?

Patients who are seen at Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin’s clinics are randomly selected by Press Ganey to receive a patient satisfaction survey after their visit. Surveys are sent via U.S. Postal Service mail or by e-email shortly after the patient visit. We currently receive more than 87,000 survey responses annually.

Can anyone complete a survey about a physician?

No. Only patients having an office visit with a Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin physician or advanced practice provider may be selected to receive a survey. Therefore results are based entirely from patients who have actually been treated by the person shown.

What questions do we ask?

Press Ganey administers surveys on behalf of the Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin health network. Information collected on these surveys allows our organization to understand what is working well and how we can improve our services in the future. Patients are invited to complete a survey with a provider only if they have completed a clinic office visit with that individual. The survey asks patients to evaluate the care received and to provide an overall rating of their provider’s care.

Why don’t all providers have a star rating?

Physicians or advanced practice providers must have 30 surveys returned in the most recent 15 month period. If an insufficient number of surveys are returned, no star ratings will be shown.

What do we do with patient survey responses?

We use patients' feedback to:

  • Identify, prioritize and make continuous improvements in patient care and overall experiences.
  • Provide constructive feedback to care providers and staff.
